Why do zebras have stripes?

Zebra
Many explanations have come and gone, this post will reveal the truth!


Flies
The idea that flies don't like stripes originated in the 1930s, It stuck and studies show that it's true! When studies were conducted they tested if flies landed on striped surfaces or complete black or complete white surfaces. The flies chose the complete white or complete black.

And that is why scientists have come to believe that zebras have stripes!

Thanks for going behind the explanations. I was always told it was camouflage - end of story. But yeah optical illusions way to go.
