Plastic Milk Science experiment aka Milk into stone
What you need:
Step 1: Get 1 warm cup of full cream milk, to achieve this you can either heat it up in the microwave or pour some milk into a saucepan and place the saucepan on a hotplate/stove.
Step 2: Get a tablespoon (5 ml) of vinegar and add the vinegar to one cup of milk. (1 cup: 1 tablespoon-ratio).
Step 3: Now stir at it. Now chunks of white stuff should appear. This substance is called casein.
Step 4: Now pour all of it through a strainer. Try to get rid of all the liquid so it's just casein.
Step 5: Now you can mould it if you like into the shape you want. Dry it in a container once you've moulded the casein. (I put mine in a strawberry container because birds seem to love eating it)
- Milk
- White vinegar

Hints and tips
- Put casein on a paper towel to soak up the remaining liquid for step 4.
- The drier the better.
Make it an experiment
The "experiment" above is actually a demonstration. To make it a real experiment try to answer questions you have by tests and doing your own experiments.

- Would this work with different vinegars
- Will this work with almond milk or skim milk
- What happens if you don't heat the milk in step
