Do carrots help you see better?
The age old question, "Do carrots help you see better?"

Do your parents convince you to finish your carrots because they help you see better? Well now you can find out the truth. Before we begin, we need to go way back when the myth first began.

British pilots in World War II had this brand new technology that gave them the upper hand this was... RADAR!!! To make sure the enemies didn't find out about it they started a rumour that their pilots ate a lot of carrots.

Do carrots help you see better?
This rumour is still circulating today! Though is there is actually some truth to this! Carrots have a chemical compound called Beta-Carotene. When your body consumes the compound it turns into vitamin A which then gets turned into retinal. From here on it gets REALLY complicated so simply retinal helps your general eye health. Though other fruits and vegetables that contain Vitamin A will help! Here's some fruits and vegetables that contain Vitamin A:
Carrots, Rock melon (Cantaloupe), Peas, Mangoes, Spinach, Cheese, Milk, Lettuce

Thanks heaps for reading and we hope you enjoyed it!
Hope the New Year is going well for you, can't wait to see you in next week's post!
